FERRARI not warming to the idea of fully electric
Ferrari has publicly stated it considers battery technology has not developed sufficiently enough to meet the needs of a supercar and that it will be at least 5 years before it can consider building a fully electric car.
While Ferrari may be shying away from building an electric supercar other manufacturers are pushing ahead.
Pininfarina – who are Ferrari’s design partner –have announced iplans to build a fully-electric Battisa supercar that will produce 1416kW and 2300Nm.
Swedish brand Koenigsegg have recently unveiled a 1270kW electric Gemera 'Mega-GT' .
Lotus is expecting to deliver the first of it’s 1470kW/2000Nm Evija electric hypercar later this year and Tesla are still working towards beginning production of its electric Roadster model, which will have supercar levels of performance. |
