|
The trusty CarsofAustralia Lime Green Rover 3500 (P6) has been with us for over 17 years and it has had a lot of improvements done to it during that time.
Our car has a Buick V8 under the bonnet (standard motor on these cars but with Stage 2 Cam and extractors now added) and a 5 speed manual gearbox (previously a sluggish standard Rover auto box but Toyota gearbox was installed on car over 10 years ago).
Unfortunately the Rover has not enjoyed covered accommodation during that time and has been parked outside on our driveway in Sydney.
The result is that being outside in Sydney all of the time = the Rover has 'acquired' a bit of rust.
So the time has come to remove the rust on the Rover and undertake some other restoration work so we get the Rover all 'sorted'.
We are placing the car in the very capable hands of Will from Elite Auto Salon in Artarmon.
We will continue to upload pics and information on the work being done by Will and his team over the coming months.
RESTORATION WORK - MAY/JUNE 2022
Initial work is underway on the Rover and the rear guards have been removed and the used replacement guards sourced from the Rover Car Club in Sydney repaired, warpped in plastic and in storage and ready to go back on the car.
This was the rust evident on the existing right-rear guard.
The left rear guard has been removed and once off the car it has revealed the extensive rust in the inner panels behind the rear door.
The right rear guard has also come off the car with similar rust issues on the inner panels behind the rear door.
More updates and pics soon !!!!!
