Electric vehicle plans for Buick may have stalled

Rumours are spreading that Buick will delay its electric-car plans as a consequence of parent company General Motors in sight of capping out on its ability to offer the $7,500 federal tax crediti to customers.

General Motors was early to market with plug-in hybrids and electric cars and this places the automaker at a major disadvantage in terms of the federal tax credit.

Buick has showcased the Enspire electric SUV concept this year and it appears there was also plans for a more luxurious electric Buick version of the Chevrolet Bolt EV.

Now this Buick version of the Bolt EV may only be built for the Chinese market.
