NEW SUPERCHARGING TECHNOLOGY

A Sydney based company Impulse Engine Technology is now offering a revolutionary breakthrough in engine technology that supercharges a car engine using a highly advanced thermo fluid dynamic process and no air pump.

The new supercharging system is known as "Negative Pressure Supercharging" and has been developed by Impulse. The company claims that the new system doubles the torque from idle to midrange or produces the same torque with an engine of half the capacity.

This allows smaller engines to cost-effectively produce the same acceleration and towing power as much larger engines using low rpm instead of high rpm while improving fuel economy and emissions.

The Negative Pressure Supercharging concept has been developed in Sydney by Alex Chabry, a self-taught engineer with a remarkable insight into the fluid dynamics of the conventional 4-stroke engine. He was initially inspired by the fast acceleration produced by the low revving 225 Chrysler slant 6 and the massive towing power (torque) produced by heavy trucks. He figured cars could use low rpm torque instead of high rpm horsepower to substantially improve acceleration and fuel economy.

The Negative Pressure Supercharging is a significant breakthrough in engine technology and offers car enthusiasts the chance to improve engines performance at a fraction of the cost of conventional supercharger or turbocharger air pump system.

Another advantage of the Negative Pressure Supercharging is that it allows the engine to run on low octane fuel with no pre-ignition and does not require high octane fuel like today's computerised performance or supercharged engines.

A 1970 Valiant show car (pictured) is one of the first vehicles in australia to feature the new Negative Pressure Supercharging system. Leonhardt Automotive recently fitted the Negative Supercharging Kit stage 4 to the 360 Chrysler small block in the 1970 Valiant show car. They were very impressed with the huge improvement in acceleration, fuel economy and towing power produced by Negative Pressure Supercharging.

Fultz Automotive in Harrogate, Tennessee is the US distributor for the new Australian Supercharging technology and a 1973 Dodge Dart show car (pictured) is the first vehicle in the USA to use this revolutionary new supercharging technology

The company fitted a Negative Supercharging Kit stage 4 to the 360 Chrysler small block in their Dodge Dart and were very impressed with the huge improvement in acceleration, fuel economy and towing power produced by Negative Pressure Supercharging.

Alex Chabry has fitted a Negative Supercharging Kit to his restored 1962 Dodge Phoenix Sedan and he has profiled his car and the supercharged motor for CARSofAUSTRALIA. You can view the clip in our OWNER INTERVIEWS section).

More information on the Negative Supercharging Kit is available from the Impulse Engine Technology website at www.impulsengine.com
