LAKE MULWALA ROD RUN

The Lake Mulwala Rod Run will be held in Yarrawonga, Victoria from 5-8 November 2015

This year’s rod run will be the Northern Suburbs Steet Rod Club’s 25th annual rod run.

THURSDAY 5 NOVEMBER, 2015

Thursday night, we will have a Meet’n’greet at the Criterion Hotel. That’s the last big hotel/pub on the left side of Belmore St as you head north over the bridge into NSW. Kicks off at 6pm, please drop on by, and if you see anyone in a NSSR shirt, come up and say “Hi” and introduce yourself.

FRIDAY 6 NOVEMBER 2015

Registration starts at 2pm at the Yarrawonga Football Club (head due west on Piper St and follow through to the Yarrawonga Holiday park), and goes through to 8pm.
Running concurrently from 6.30pm through to 8pm will be the Sausage Sizzle at the Ski Club for entrants, so if you’re an Entrant, make sure you get down there no later than 8pm to get a feed off the guys and gals on the BBQ point. The Ski Club will have the band, Kool Kats, from approx. 8pm onwards.

SATURDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER 2015

Registration continues at the football club between 9.00am and 12pm.

Poker Run
. The Poker Run heads west of Yarrawonga this year, with one of our supporting businesses planning on having a special display that will interest a lot of you. Point to note is that most of the businesses involved in this year’s Poker Run don’t start trading until 10 am. So, if you’re an early bird, and want to get your first card at 10 am, just be at whichever business you want to start with first (no set order). Finish point this year for completed Poker Run cards is back at the Yarrawonga Football Club oval.

Nostalgia style Drags
. For those of you who want to have some fun at the drags and grudge match your mates, but are not a rod run Entrant, you can enter on the day at the track. Forms will be available at the track. Naturally, your car will have to pass scrutineering by the Wilby Park officials, so make sure you check everything is good to go before you get there. Don’t forget, a helmet is a must, and take a set of coveralls as well (closed footwear, long pants and sleeves are a minimum)
Just remember, this is only open to pre-65 cars, so if you own a 66 Mustang or similar, refusal may offend.

High Tea
. For the Ladies, we will have the High Tea returning again this year. Just like last year, entry to this is limited, so when you get your Entrants pack at Registration, make sure you ask for a Ticket to the High Tea! (that’s a subtle hint for all you blokes out there to score some brownie points with your lovely lady)

Belmore St cruise & Rock’n’Roll Dance
. The evening cruise down Belmore St has been pushed back one hour to a 5pm start. This is to give NSSR officials time to get back from respective events and prepare for the cruise. Cruising will be through to 10pm, so plenty of time to have dinner and get back up town for another great night.

Also, the town hall will be jiving away, with the rock’n’roll dance happening between 8.00 pm and midnight. This year we have a local Melbourne north side band called Memory Lane. Entry is $10 for adults, children free. Entrants get free admission, naturally (child is 16 yrs and under for this activity).

Yarrawonga Golf Club Entrant's Dinner
The dinner for those Entrants who indicated that they want it (and have paid through their entry), will be held in the Yarrawonga Golf Club this year. Adults are $18 per head, kids 12 yrs and under, $12 per head. There will be two main sittings, 6pm till 7-30pm, and 7-30pm till 9pm.

SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER 2015

The show’n’shine kicks off at 7.00 am with Entrants car parking then general admission for the public from 9.00 am, so we hope that everyone gets their car down to the oval and parked by then.

Breakfast for Entrant’s kicks off at approx. 8.00 am, so make sure you get down there for that.

We have entertainment lined up for the kids, and the traders will be back on the oval this year, just like in the old days. We will also have food vendors present as well.

Again, the pre-65 police will be on hand to make sure that we only get those eligible cars on the oval, and none of that late model stuff will be allowed.

We will have the band playing again, and DJ Antony will be there as our MC and also providing some tunes in-between the band’s sets.

Raffle prizes will be drawn at 2pm, followed closely by the presentation of the top ten and various sponsor trophies.

For those that are staying on in Yarrawonga on Sunday night, and can make it, we will head out to the Bundalong Tavern for dinner, so feel free to come on out and join the NSSR for a feed and a chin-wag, and tell us what you loved, didn’t love, or just general observations.
